520 _aWith the advent of computers and electronic communication, the development of systems to better sell one's products and services are today offered at the comfort zone of every consumer. This does not only apply to private goods but to public goods and services as well. With this development, people can go on line shopping. People can purchase electronic tickets. People can communicate and even see each other across the miles. With the present trend, electronic government services have emerged. Thus, e-government applications have a vital role in making government services and information widely accessible. Essentially, it increases the reach of its services beyond government offices and creates transparency in information practices. New competencies for public management have emerged. To make the public services ramdam ni "Juan and "Juana", the Bureau of Immigration has learned to embrace the advanced new technology of Electronic Visa Application and Electronic Payment System, thus became the re-entry project of the scholar. This systems is an operational network - governed by laws, rules and standards that deliver public services at the most convenience of its clients. It is an innovative service facility that offers our clients an alternative way of applying for their visa using their Land Bank ATM Cards/Cash Cards or Debit Cards, ATM Cards of BancNet-Member Banks and Credit Cards in real time manner. Aligned with the Philippine Development Plan, the re-entry project aims to promote transparency and good governance with an anti-corruption feature because of the absence of face-to-face interactions between the Bureau of Immigration frontline employees and the clients where opportunity to engage in "fixing" is eliminated. Fixing is defined as the act of facilitating the processing of any kind of office transactions for and in behalf of the Bureau's client for a certain fee agreed by both the employee and the client. This becomes possible when clients find difficulty in transactions because of the long process/ long queues, causing the to engage Bureau of Immigration employees into fixing arrangements. At this point the Bureau of Immigration becomes responsive to the needs of its client hence, the integration of e-Visa Application and e-Payment facility in the management system. Aside from being responsive to its client's needs, it is also responsive in addressing the high security risk faced by the cashiers while handling their collections especially in transporting said deposited collections to the bank sine payments and deposits through this new system are captured electronically. The risk of depositing millions of collections which in a worse scenario may involve losing one's life would be avoided. Essentially, the e-Visa Application and e-Payment system aims for more efficient and effective service in government transactions with the end view of maximizing government revenues.
