520 | _aWe often hear that the poverty being experienced today is due to lack of employment opportunities, yet many employers report that numerous jobs are left vacant because of unskilled applicants to the openings, a job-skills mismatch. Competency-Based Training is a modular, self-paced, flexible, affordable and accessible training method. It is very relevant to those who have less money to spend for education. The Re-entry project "Pagpapatupad ng Kasanayang Akma sa Kabuhayan" (Competency-based Training (CBT) Delivery in Private Schools) aims to promote the benefits of CBT delivery to private schools (HEIs / TVIs) and encourage, engage and support them in the process of change. Implementing the ReP posed many challenges, both on management and personal levels. Principles learned, skills acquired and attitudes developed in the residential training of the Public Management Development Program were tested and put into use. Planning, Organizing, Leading and Controlling as designed in theory can be altered because of leadership, team support, time and operational conflicts, unexpected reaction of target beneficiaries as well as adjustments in priorities. It is my prayer and God's wisdom and grace that a successful conduct of the ReP in Cagayan shall lead to a national-TESDA-wide action towards CBT delivery in public and private TVET institutions. | ||
