520 | _aAs a health related program, the social health insurance system especially the sponsored program in the country has not been implemented well. Data collection and processing as experienced is error prone and inefficient. The collection process is affected by both the internal and external political and socio-economic environment. It is the aim of the paper to address these issues through the identification and analysis of factors affecting the full implementation of the sponsored program in the assigned area. This paper will present the profiling results showing that survey done to identify indigents was faulty. It will justify that local verified data should be put into an electronic database to facilitate quick access to member health records and allows rapid computation of vital health indices. Policies will be developed to enhance enrolment of indigents into the sponsored program. Document analysis, Consultative meetings with key informant and survey of end users are employed in this project to establish baseline information of members in the community. This case study has been successful in identifying and analyzing some of the bottlenecks in implementing the program. It will propose an alternative method of paying premiums that would be acceptable for both the community member and LGU. | ||
