520 _aThe United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) are eight (8) goals that UN Member States have agreed to achieve by the year 2015. One of the MDGs, MDG5, aims to improve maternal health. This study aims to improve maternal health through the Philhealth Para sa Buntis Project by improving maternal health indicators such as facility based delivery, skilled-birth attended deliveries, prenatal care and antenatal care. Focus group discussion and interview done and factors identified causing low maternal health indicators include financial constraints, no budget allocation, no information conducted regarding Philhealth during prenatal visits by health workers. Philhealth enrollment among pregnant women was done. There were 70 pregnant women enrolled by the LGU and another 15 pregnant women enrolled from the proceeds of the fun run activity. Outcome of study revealed improvement in maternal health indicators such as facility based delivery, skilled-birth attended deliveries, prenatal care and antenatal care in Labangan.
