520 | _aThe action plan and project is a descriptive study on the state of Maternal, Newborn and Child Health care delivery system and utilization in Tuao East Cagayan. This included evaluation of service delivery at community level and identification of gaps and barriers to utilization. The impact of establishment of service delivery network on utilization was assessed. Client satisfaction survey was done to assess the responsiveness of the project. Random evaluation of 3 Barangay Health Stations revealed service delivery gaps as follows: (1) Downgraded facility having inadequate supplies and equipments to cater MNCH needs; (2) less service days than expected and (3) poor recording and reporting system Focus Group Discussion revealed the following barriers: (1) lack of awareness/ misconception; (2) weak referral and communication system; (3) difficult transportation; and (4) poor health financing Comparison of performance prior and after the project implementation revealed that there is a 10 percent improvement in performance on Child immunization, facility-based delivery and contraceptive prevalence rate. However, a decline in performance was noted in antenatal care post implementation. But can be justified by considering the low number of live births in 2015 due to higher CPR. | ||
