520 | _aTuberculosis has been a major public health problem in the Philippines for the past several decades. Despite several efforts to eradicate it, it still remained a major public health concern in Limawasa, Southern Leyte. The main objective of the study is to strengthen the National Tuberculosis Control Program in the municipality through health systems reform approach, therefore, improving Tuberculosis outcomes. Gaps and casual factors were identified in the study. Interventions were focused in manipulating the Five 5 Health Systems Control Knobs Financing, Organization, Payment, Persuasion, and Regulation, with specific level of modulation. The indicators used to measure the improvement were the case detection rate CDR per quarter, as compared to the CDR in the past 2 years, as well as the number of drop outs from treatment and the number mortality from TB since the start of the implementation phase. The study showed that health sector reform approach is effective in improving TB outcomes in the municipality. There was a visible increase in TB case detection. There were also no recorded drop outs and no known mortality from TB. | ||
