Filipinos having hypertension is increasing throughout the years. Despite various programs of the department of Health, incidence of hypertension remains high. The Municipality of Calayan is considered as one of the Geographically isolated and Disadvantaged Areas. Its location makes a difficult for health care delivery as accessibility and transportation to far flung areas are difficult. Incidence of hypertension is increasing in the municipality in terms of morbidity and mortality. Several unacceptable practices among hypertensive patients towards high blood pressure are observed, resulting in difficult management of the disease.
