Description: xii, 81 leaves : illustrationsSubject(s): Dissertation note: Graduate School of Public and Development Management Health Systems and Development Batch 3 Thesis (MPM-HSD)--Development Academy of the Philippines. Summary: The study on the implementation of Reaching Every Barangay Plus, an outreach activity to address the difficulty in accessing health services in the far flung barangays in the municipality of Panglima Sugala, aimed to review the conduct of Reaching Every Barangay Plus, to identify the lessons learned from the program, and to develop recommendations to improve the program. The Reaching Every Barangay Plus was a strategy to deliver integrated maternal and child health services to the identified hard to reach barangays. The services included prenatal care, post partum care, immunization, vitamin A supplementation, family planning counselling, and public health lecture. Upon review, there were concerns identified such as appropriateness of the services, regularity of the visit, and the safety and security of the health workers. The sustainability of the program was the main issue identified. It was then recommended that involving the barangay local government through establishment of a local health board could be a strategy to sustain the program. The Reaching Every Barangay Plus was an appropriate strategy to deliver integrated health services in the far flung barangays of Panglima Sugala. It could increase the health outcomes in the long run since the coverage of health services was increased.Item type | Current library | Call number | Status | Barcode | |
