520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | This Re-entry Project addressed the need to develop a Logistics Management Information System (LMIS) which stemmed from the non-existence of the Logistics Management Manual, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on logistics/property management; poor collaboration and coordination with internal and external stakeholders; and low priority and training skills of personnel in LMIS. The project involved series of collaboration and coordination meetings with the incumbent PDEA Director General, UNDERSECRETARY ARTURO G CACDAC JR, CESE, along with LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SERVICE STAFF, the Scholar's Institutional Partner-DIRECTOR ROSELYN A BORJA, ReP Project Team, Regional Directors, Division Chiefs, Property Custodians, and Supply Officers in the development of a Logistics Management Information System (LMIS). The project resulted in the creation of a well-developed Logistics Management Information System (LMIS). Through LMIS, there was a successful printing and dissemination of Logistics Management Manual to all Regional and National Services which served as "bible" to the Agency for property/logistics management. To be able to fully understand the contents of the Manual, a Training/Workshop was conducted to all Proerty Custodians/Supply Officers, Warehousemen, Buyers. This was facilitated through the help of Commission on Audit (COA), Government Procurement Policy Board (GPPB), Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Officers, concerned Logistics Management Service, Internal Affairs Service, and Financial Management Service personnel as main Resource Speakers during the conduct of said training/workshop. For easy access of logistical forms, references per issued logistics bulletin/guidelines/memoranda and updates on conducted Agency's biddings, a successful posting of property forms and other related standard operating procedures were posted as auxiliary at the Agency's website. To fully support the transparency of government transactions through LMIS, a well accounted inventory database of PDEA properties was developed. This ReP, as an innovative approach, was introduced to promote transparent, efficient, effective service delivery to Drug Enforcement Officers (DEOs) to further enhance the Agency's operational capability. Also, this is a helpful tool for the future application to ISO9001:2008 Certification to improve the quality and for sustainability of the Agency's logistics management system. |
