| Summary, etc. | The formulation of a Guidebook on Settlements Analysis aims to rationalize the livability of urban/settlement center in Central Luzon by producing evidence-based settlement and local physical development plans in Central Luzon. The Guidebook intends to guide local planners in identifying population attraction of major urban growth centers using the Population Gravitational Attraction Model (PGAM) as a planning tool. Moreover, the utilization of an alternative mapping technique-Google Maps and Microsoft PowerPoint was presented. The Guidebook contained analysis of the study in Central Luzon using the PGAM. Output maps for this study utilized the procedures presented in the Guidebook. The use of the Guidebook was pilot-tested in three (3) local government units, namely: (i) Bulacan (provincial level); (ii) Angeles (city level), and (iii) Guagua (municipal level). Expected outputs of the 3 pilot sites were delivered through the conduct of hands-on orientation workshop. The funds utilized for the project was very minimal, and were sourced from the Regional Land Use Committee (RLUC) funds. There was collaboration with the League of Local Planning Development Coordinators of the Philippines, Inc. (LLPDPCPI), Central Luzon Chapter and members of the RLUC to solicit technical inputs in the enhancement of the said Guidebook. As on of the major deliverables, the Guidebook was favorably supported and endorsed by the RLUC III through the issuance of Resolution No. 1 series of 2016. With the support, cooperation and commitment of the Re-Entry Project team, the management, and the stakeholders, all project outputs were completed. |
