520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | The study looked into the reporting system of health staff in Aloran, Misamis Occidental. Untimely report submission of the health staff to higher health personnel was determined. Delayed submission of midwife of their report was due to inability to fill-out recording forms after giving service to a client. Procrastination among health staff in recording and reporting was noted. Inadequate training of health worker on how to fill-out forms and lack of technical expertise of staff to properly analyze the data collected was recognized as one of the factor of reports not submitted on time and no readily available and reliable health data. The study aims to determine the current level of competency of Rural Health Staff through a pre-test and post-test. Before administering the post-test a capacity building was conducted. Improvement of filling-out forms of Field Health Service Information System was noted. Group discussion among health personnel happened and came up with a strategy on how to manage their data collected in their respected area and their time to report a reliable result. The study then was able to determine that factors affecting the delayed reporting of the Rural Health Staff also affect the quality of data generated. Capacity building with a strategy for data generation is a need in producing a good-quality data. Data that are at wrong level of aggregation, poorly presented or in the wrong form have limit usefulness. Thus, reports are devalued if they are presented late. |
