Summary, etc. | The burden of sexually transmissible infection has been widely experienced by all nations in the world especially among developing countries. The persistent increase of this communicable disease makes it more challenging for the health sector to provide acceptable and cost-effective interventions to prevent and control STI. With this, the need to enhance STI program among high risk individuals must be given importance. A strategy that has quality-assured STI services and meets the people's needs must be developed to decrease the prevalence of STI. With the increased incidence of STI in Tumauini and presence of cases from the adolescent group, this study was conducted to enhance the STI prevention and control program in the municipality. Initially, the study utilized a descriptive analysis of the present status of STI incidence in Tumauini were also determined to develop interventions appropriate for this group. The data was collected through record review, interview and group discussion with concerned personel and the study group. Analyzing the obtained information, new strategies were developed and employed with thwe use of the health control knobs. This is to stengthen the health and community system by ensuring the utilization of qualiy health services by people without suffering financial hardship or stigmatization. Various stakeholders were also involved in the framework to guarantee the full implementation of the STI prevention and control program and decrease the incidence of STI in the municipality. |
