By: Contributor(s): Description: 98 leaves : color illustrationsSubject(s): Online resources: Dissertation note: Public Management Development Program Middle Managers Class Batch 9 Thesis (MMC)--Development Academy of the Philippines. Summary: The Re-entry Project entitled "Establishing an OSAA Electronic Information System to Better serve the Public and the Senate" was conceptualized with the Filipino people, including the Senate employees, in mind. The project aims to improve the delivery of service of the OSAA through online services. "OSAA" is the acronym for the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms in the Senate of the Philippines. The www.senate.gov.ph is the official website of the Senate of the Philippines wherein the Office of the Sergeant-at-Arms was briefly profiles in the Secretariat link, stating no more than the names of the incumbent Sergeant-at-Arms, Service Chiefs and Assistant Service Chiefs, telephone numbers and the basic functions of the office. The absence of the OSAA website is one cause of misunderstanding between visitors and security personnel; a slow-paced security process and a crowded lobby area that compromises security and order in the senate premises. In addition, the comments, suggestions and complaints from the public can be acted upon after a period of time thus delaying the improvement of public services. The OSAA website, www.phsenatecom.wordpress.com is the output of this Re-entry Project. People visiting this website will be given insight about the organization and the rules and regulations that are being implemented by the OSAA with regards to security. The website provides access to downloadable and printable application forms for senate ID, security pass, access pass, car pass and car sticker. In addition, it offers a feedback mechanism (comments, suggestions or complaints) for the public by clicking the "Contact Us" button. The presence of the OSAA website will give the public a reference or source of information regarding the organization and the services it offers online. With people using the website for their needed services, there would be lesser people crowding the lobby area and as a result, a more secured and orderly senate premises. The scholar is delighted that the project was accomplished and also exceeded its goal which is the "Construction and Activation of OSAA webpage (Prototype / Beta-test) including downloadable forms". The project is now linked to the Facebook page of the OSAA-SSS and is now planning to enhance the project design and expand the services being offered by the website. She will also pursue to request regular funding allocation to sustain the project.
