The high regard of the public to NEDA's obligation inspired the scholar to conceptualize a Re-Entry Project (ReP) aligned to the agency's major task. Information is the life-blood of NEDA Regional Office VIII. The regional office recognizes the fact that it needs externally-sourced information to plan and make decisions. Traditionally, data gathering in NEDA Regional Office VIII is made through paper documents submitted by the regional line agencies. This is a time-consuming process, from requesting to the collection and summarization of data. These submitted documents take up space and are likely to be misfiled and misplaced. Subsequently, in between the agencies' submissions are numerous follow-ups either by telephone or purposely visits to the agencies, which take up a lot of the employees' time of work which lead to low organizational productivity nd efficiency. These and other problems in NEDA VIII such as lost of documents results in loss of information incidents as well as the burden of dealing with paper-based documents. However, the traditional way of gathering data can be improved through electronic or encoded form using word processors, spreadsheets, presentations, and e-mails. Moreover, in order to improve the management and storage of data/information, it call for the establishment of a computer-based data system. The ReP will engage the various implementing and oversight regional line agencies. The scholar is expected to collaborate with the different planning officers of the regional line agencies in the timely submission of crucial socioeconomic data, and institutionalizing the information management system.Item type | Current library | Call number | Status | Barcode | |
