Summary: The aim of this paper was to assess the Department of Health's Food and Waterborne Disease Prevention and Control Program and its implementation in the Municipality of Rizal, Cagayan. Through document analysis and focus group discussions with key informants, it seeks to find information on a specific set of objections; the current state of food and waterborne disease, the state of the water supply, incidence level of food and waterborne disease and the current state and effectiveness of the Food and Waterborne Disease Prevention and Control Program. This paper determined that the Food and Waterborne Disease Prevention and Control Program in Rizal was sufficient for what the program set out to do but can be improved by broadening its coverage to include matters outside of its current objectives, such as environment and sanitary ordinance enforcement.
