Summary: As time passes by, the vulnerability of man along diseases or sicknesses is of high percentage. Along with this phenomenon, hypertension has been classified as one of the most dangerous conditions which in worse, can lead to death. According to the World Health Organization, this leading causes of cardiovascular morbidity and mortality is a condition in which the blood vessels have persistently raised pressure. Driven by the growing cases of hypertension across the globe, within the country, and even in the province, the researcher took an initiative to find answers on this existing dilemma. In line with such, this quantitative-qualitative research study sought to examine the incidence of hypertension in the Municipality of Lidlidda, most primarily on Barangay Poblacion Norte which is the locale if the study. It also traces the risk factors which contributes to the acquisition of hypertension and formulated cost-effective strategies to combat this disease. One hundred and ninety five hypertensive patients of Barangay Poblacion Norte as well as municipal health workers and five barangay health workers who provided credible and essential information to come up with a potentially-able intervention has been the population of the study. The study recorded that Lidlidda has a total population of 4796, making its incidence rate at 15.14%. Among these 726 hypertension cases in Lidlidda, 195 cases of them or 26.86% of the total case belong to Barangay Poblacion Norte establishing a incidence rate of 19.72%. Out of the 95 hypertensive patients, it has also been classified that 44.10% of them are males and 55.90% of them are females. The age group that has the highest recorded percentage of hypertensive patients is 60 years old and above with 63.60% followed by 40-59 years old at 32.30% and 20-39 at 4.10%. For the patient's level of educational attainment, 44.11% or 86 pf them did not experienced schooling. Fifty-eight (29.74%) of them only had the chance to finish elementary while 36(18.46%) had their secondary schooling. Only 7.69% or 15 patients who has hypertension finished their tertiary level of schooling. Therefore, incidence of hypertension is found out mostly on people who do not have enough levels of learning. As identified, there are also major risk factors hypertensive patients are into. First is the patient's factors which consists of unhealthy diet, smoking, alcohol consumption, family history or background and high levels of stress. Second is the Health facility factors or the capability of the Rural Health Unit in terms of services and apparatus/device to treat hypertension. Thirdly, the health worker factors which revolves on the capabilities and knowledge of health workers in treating this particular type of sickness. With these findings, formulation of ways to improve hypertension control consolidates with the BONA (Bantayan at Obserbahan and Nakaambang dulot ng Altapresyon) Health System where it seeks to lower the cases, as well as control blood pressure levels the best possible way. Thus, the study highly recommends the implementation of the formulated action plan project for it contains suitable actions which can hit directly its goal which is to improve hypertension control and awareness.
