Summary: This study is a public policy paper. It aims to address the common issues and concerns confronting the Doctors to the Barrios (DTTBs) deployed in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), the recipient mayors and the provincial health officers. From the data gathered, the study proposes to revise the guidelines of the DTTB Program to make it tailor-fit to a non-devolved political set-up like the ARMM. It also formulayes a general flow on how the program should be implemented in the ARMM to secure the DTTBs and possibly increase the number of doctors who are enrolled in the program wanting to be deployed to the ARMM areas. The study used a purposive non-probability sampling design. Data gathered were collected through primary interviews of key informants and reading of related literature in the web and libraries. After the data were collected, the researcher analyzed them through cross-examination with the data collected in the web and libraries. At the end of the study, a draft of the revised guidelines for the DTTB program in ARMM was formulated in the context of data gathered both from the interviews and the documentary materials. The revised guidelines will be recommended for future adoption and utilization by DOH-ARMM. The causal relationship theory of management was used in the analytical framework of the paper.
