Summary: According to the Philippine Statistics Authority - National Statistics Office, the Facility-Based deliveries in the Philippines have increased to 60%, however, it is only 24% in the Municipality of Sominot, Zamboanga del Sur. Thus, this study is pursued and will determine the factors which contribute to the low Facility-based Deliveries. This will utilize the Supply and Demand Side Interventions to bring about an increase in the FBD thereby improving maternal and newborn health outcome. The author will make use of the different tools in gathering data namely the Document Review and Analysis, Direct Observation, Key Informant Interview and In-Depth Interview. This study is also aimed at evaluating the impact of the interventions employed to arrive at increased Facility-based Deliveries with consequent reduction in the home deliveries.
