Summary: Mental health program id one of the growing major health issues in the Asia Pacific region. As a state of complete physical, mental and social well being, health is influence by many interconnecting factors. Mental health is an essential component of health and is a resource to help us deal with the stresses and challenges of everyday life. Of the 1.4 million Filipinos with disabilities identified in the 2010 National Census, 14 percent or over 200,000 people had mental disability. The most common mental health problems are depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder, suicidal behavior and substance abuse disorder. In the Municiaplity of Baao, Camarines Sur where the researcher is assigned as a doctor to the barrio DTTB, suicide is the 10th and 7th leading cause of mortality in 2015 and 2015 respectively and with an alarming 10 cases last 2015. However, the local government cannot address the issues since there was no structured program available for mental health and no medicines available in the health center. This paper aims in the establishment of a functional mental health program in the Municiiplty of Baao, Camarines Sur. There were two researchers done by author to serve as an evidence to create effective interventions to address the current issues and concerns in mental health particulalrly psychotic vagrant cases. Thus paving way to sustainable solutions namely creating of mental health hotline and signages, creation of protocol for psychotic vagrant cases, creation of Executive Order, Municipal Ordinance of Mental Health Program and Delivery System. Thus this APP served as an evidence that a well conducted research, applying all the theories, maximizing available resources and effective interventions for mental health cases will not only improve the services being provided by the Local Government Unit and the Department of Health but will also improve the quality of life of the patients and the practice of the health care system within the municipality.Item type | Current library | Call number | Status | Barcode | |
