"The symposium ws a follow-up project to the regional survey on the same subject conducted in 1987 in 11 member countries. Its main objective was to discuss the results of the survey, as well as resource papers on special topics presented by selected experts. More specifically, the symposium deliberated on the pricing policy mechanisms for major agricultural products and farm inputs, major problems and effects of various agricultural price and other support policies, and measures to improve the general pricing policy environment in member countries and six resource speakers." -From the book
