The study aims to identify the factors that motivates and institute an incentive mechanism to community health workers to improve performance in post-disaster. This is a descriptive study that utilized document review, key informant interviews, field observation and community health worker consultation to look into the past-disaster health system, assess the community health worker performance and their environment post disaster and formulate and institute an incentive scheme. The health system is overwhelmed in the response to the health needs of the community post disaster. The community health workers are performing poorly. An incentive scheme is consulted and instituted to motivate the health workers. Financial incentives are seen as strong motivator.
