Summary: Objective: The study aims to determine the factors affecting facility based delivery in Impasugong, Bukidnon and create a culturally-sensitive strategy to improve FBD in Higaonon Communities. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional survey type of descriptive research was employed to determine the different factors that influenced facility based delivery among reproductive age women of barangay Hagpa, Impasugong on November 2016 to August 2017. Data were collected from document reviews, simple random sampling of respondents and key informant interviews. Results: Health indicators under the MNCHN Program were generally poor in the municipality, especially among Higaonon mothers where FBD is disproportionately low. Results revealed that attitude on maternal health have a significant relation with the tribal affiliation of the mother. Conclusion: Multiple factors affect facility based utilization in an indigenous cultural community.Hence, more focus should be given to these communities with cultural appropriateness to achieve responsiveness in health.
