The Department of Education (DepEd) belongs to Cluster 2 which aims to address human development and poverty reduction. it made reforms to meet the demands and expectations of the President on a 21st century kind of education to conform to the fast changing demands of the society brought about by globalization. The most notable reforms is the K to 12 Program or "The Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013". It enhances the basic education curriculum by adding two or more years to basic education, from 10 years to 12 years. Grades 11-12 is now known as the Senior High School (SHS). DepEd, Vigan City Division identified two (2) concerns that it aims to address: (1) identification of private partners to provide laboratories for work immersion for SHS learners; and (2) a perceived problem of jobs and skills mismatch. As an intervention, the Division and PMDP agreed for the scholar to deliver a Jobs and Skills Mapping Handbook for Senior High School in Vigan City. It shall contain the list of industries and enterprises in Vigan City, the top five industries with high demand for employment in Vigan City, the top ten occupations/skills in-demand in Vigan City, and the enterprises/establishments in Vigan City with 20 or more employees which may provide laboratories for work immersion...
